Cycle rides for women (various dates)

30 May 2008

Bath and North East Somerset's Somer Valley Wheels Cycling Scheme has joined with the CTC to bring an exciting new opportunity to women beginner's or refresher cyclists.

This summer’s Five miles to Fabulous bike rides are an easy first step towards getting healthy, having fun and meeting new friends.

If it’s been a while since you last used a bike, don’t worry – lots of other people on the day will be in the same boat. All you need to bring is a bike that works, a drink and a snack, and yourself. If you don't have your own bike, you can use one of ours for just £2 hire (please see below for booking information)

When you arrive, you will be met by one of our friendly cycle leaders who will show you some basic skills and then guide you on a gentle five-mile ride on traffic-free or quiet lanes.

We would especially like to encourage women who have not previoulsy had the time or opportunity to try out a new hobby due to other life commitments.

One last thing. The ride is not competitive – it’s about having fun while you get fit.

So what are you waiting for?

Meet at the Tea and Trade Tea Rooms, Radstock at 14:00.  The route takes you to the picturesque village of Kilmersdon (known for the Jack and Jill Hill!) on the beautiful Colliers Way, a traffic free former railway which has been turned into a wonderful cycle and walking track. Refreshments will be provided.
