Getting involved

If you enjoy cycling and would like to get more involved in improving conditions for local cyclists, there are a few ways that you can get involved. You could join your local Cycle Forum or perhaps help to set up a Bicycle User Group at your workplace or join a local cycling campaign group.
Cycle Forums
If you want to become more involved in cycling issues, you could join one of the cycle forums which meet regularly. A representative from the Council attends the meeting and can answer any questions on cycling and discuss issues affecting cyclists. You don’t have to book, just turn up. Contact your local council if you would like to find out more about a particular Cycle Forum.

Bicycle User Groups
What is a Bicycle User Group?
A 'Bicycle User Group (BUG) is one of the best ways to support and encourage cycle commuting. It is a group of people which can include cyclists, would-be cyclists and management who work together to bring about improvements that will encourage people to cycle to work or on business.
There are already a number of BUGs in action at companies across the West. There may already be one where you work, ask at your workplace if you would like to get involved.
Want to set up a Bicycle User Group?
You only need one or two enthusiastic cyclists to get a BUG up and running where you work and they can help improve facilities for those who cycle to work.
