Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils are leading on the Cycling City project, working with Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset councils to promote cycling across the region.
Have you been inspired by the achievements of British cyclists in the Olympic Games or the Tour de France? If so then Go-ride is for you!
Go-ride is a cycling programme devised by British Cycling to introduce and engage young people in the sport of cycling.
Go-ride sessions run in safe, traffic free environments such as schools, parks and purpose built centres. Coaching sessions replicate mini versions of cycling disciplines to teach and develop the skills needed to cycle competitively. Disciplines include BMX, cycle speedway, cyclo-cross and mountain biking, road racing and track cycling at Newport Velodrome (where the British Team often trains).
Young people can take part in a wide variety of sessions throughout the year that will inspire them to become our athletes of the future. Go-ride also work closely with local schools, helping them to offer curriculum-time sessions that will inspire pupils to see their bike as a sporting opportunity.
