British Cycling are the UK's governing body for cycle sports including BMX, Cycle Speedway, Cyclo-Cross, Mountain Biking as well as Road and Track. They also co-ordinate the racing calendar in
most of the major sporting disciplines. British Cycling has several youth development initiatives and a range of training courses for officials and participants in the sport of cycling including Go-Ride.

Cycling England is a national body which co-ordinates the development of cycling across England. It aims to create the conditions which will result in more people cycling, more safely and more often.. It is supported by a group representing a number of government departments, including health, education, planning and sport as well as transport.

CTC is a national cycling organisation offers a comprehensive and specialised service for the leisure and commuting cyclist. CTC is a one-stop shop for everything cycling: technical advice, information, specialist mail order, a magazine, cycling-related legal advice and support, insurance, organised tours and thousands of cycling events annually. There are sections in Bristol and Bath listed under local cycling clubs.

Life Cycle is a not-for-profit organisation which promotes and encourages cycling. They can offer help to residents with guidance on suitable routes for cycling, cycle training for both adults and children and bicycle maintenance.

Sustrans - the sustainable transport charity, works on practical projects to encourage people to walk, cycle and use public transport in order to reduce motor traffic and its adverse effects. Sustrans' flagship project is the National Cycle Network, creating 10,000 miles of routes throughout the UK.

The primary focus of the club is on road cycling, be that social club runs or time trials. Members vary alot in cycling standards, from the social cyclist through to time trialers.

Based in the Bristol area, their aim is to introduce and support people to try and develop themselves into better cyclists across all standards and disciplines. The club’s current focus is mainly to attract young people into the sport and develop them as potential athletes through their dedicated youth academy.

This club concentrates on general trail riding but does also cater for all riders and all disciplines from beginners to expert, from XC to downhill, freeride, enduro and even single speeders. The club has an active social life with many away rides to the major bike venues around the country.

Sunday runs start from Clevedon Triangle all year and are around 50 miles with a coffee stop or further with a stop for lunch. To cater for the less athletic, ladies/slower runs usually take place on a Sunday, starting in Wrington. The Club also promotes time trials including a weekly 10 mile event.

Rides vary in length, but generally there is at least one long (faster paced) and one short (easy paced) ride each month, to cater for riders of varying ability. In addition to our Sunday rides, we also organise occasional Cycling / Youth Hostel weekends, and participate in local and national CTC events.

Sunday rides generally start in Radstock and stop at the cafe somewhere between 11:00 and 11:30. Most rides get back to Radstock by around 14:00 at the latest.

Weston Cycle Club
A social cycle club with no strenuous activity, simply leisure rides at weekends. Occasionally other outdoor activities are organised such as youth hostelling and camping. Meet at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre in Weston-super-Mare on a Sunday at 10am.

The Bath Cycling Campaign works to promote and encourage responsible cycling in the Bath area, in the west of England. They meet on the 3rd Monday of the month and have an email group that keeps members in touch with the latest news about what's happening and is used to share news, ask questions and express opinions.
